Solar Energy: Pros and Cons

Solar energy is an ecologically friendly way to provide power to the population. There are pros and cons when using this kind of energy.

The pros to solar energy are its less cost comparably to the normal energy generating means. The sun powers solar energy, it is a natural resource. It’s a more environmentally friendly way to power the area population. No burning fuel ruining the earth atmosphere to worry about.

The costs are much more less as most of the solar energy system investment is spent on the set up. As for running electricity from the sun solar power there is no charge at all. Sun power is free.

If a solar power system is suitable for your area, it could essentially do away with the annoying electric bills come every month. The bill goes up quite a bit every time you use more energy to run your household.

It has no fuel need to burn, so it would be atmosphere friendly as well as not be affected when the gasoline price goes up due to the fuel resources shortages. Everything is affected if there is a shortage, but solar energy wouldn’t have any adverse effects of it at all. You would still enjoy a constant flow of energy to run your household on.

Even when the neighbors experience electricity power outages you would still have energy resources. You wouldn’t have to worry about the adverse effects of the electricity outages.

Solar energy can be supplied to many remote areas receive a lot of the sun rays. Mountain cabins would be a good option for using solar energy while electrical utilities would have to figure out a way to get the wires and poles up to you. Solar power systems wouldn’t need that extra equipment to have to worry about.

The solar energy is a low maintenance system save you money from having to re wire a room or a whole house in order to update to codes. All would be needed for any updating you would want to do is just to install a few more solar panels.

The cons of using a system like this are the cost of setting this system up. It could be costly to have installed at your home, but you have to remember it is virtually the only cost you need to worry about. A large area would be needed to install this system so that you could effectively store the energy.

Of course, since its run by the sun power, you would need to be in an area where sun is available for you to store the energy from. If there weren’t sufficient sunlight to draw from, solar energy systems wouldn’t work well for you.

You can draw sun energy during the day only and not at night as there is no sun then. Drawing sun energy would be difficult if it’s a cloudy overcast day as well. So in order to be sure you continue to receive constant energy flow from your solar energy system you would have to purchase a backup battery to use in those cases.

Solar power would be an efficient way to provide energy, but it isn’t exactly known for its speed as far as vehicles go. They would tend to run much slower than the gas powered ones and in today world where everyone’s in a hurry these kinds of cars wouldn’t sell very well.

Solar energy has more advantages than disadvantages. The disadvantages could be worked out efficiently while testing, and engineers figure out new ways to approach them.
